Sydney: An Indian-origin taxi driver in Australia will face trial for sexually assaulting a woman, media reports said on Wednesday.
A West Australian taxi driver, identified as Suni Kumar Saharan, 28, molested the woman, who is also 28 years old, after picking her up along with her four friends from Victoria Park in Perth on September 7.
He will face trial on charges of assaulting a woman, Australian Associated Press reported.
The Perth magistrate's court heard that Saharan was in Australia on a 457 visa but is not currently working.
A temporary work visa, the 457 visa allows skilled workers to come to Australia and work for an approved business for up to four years.
Saharan has been released on bail. He will face one-day trial on December 2.
