Sydney: A six-year-old Indian-origin girl in Australia was pulled out from a swimming pool where her younger sister, then 15 months old, nearly drowned and sustained brain damage two years ago.
The incident happened at Winston Hills in Sydney on Friday when the mother of the girl with her three daughters along with a relative were at the pool, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Sunday.
The six-year-old girl did not know swimming.
She is now in stable condition and is expected to be sent home soon.
"It was bad luck she was in the pool when the episode happened," the father, who went by the surname Singh, was quoted as saying.
She is learning to walk again after having sustained a brain injury.
