Indian owner of US supermart found dead in store

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh: An Indian man, from Andhra Pradesh, who runs a super market in the US, was found dead at his store under suspicious circumstances, according to reports.

According to R Shyam Sunder Reddy, an advocate in Karimnagar, his brother-in-law Goli Venkat Reddy, 48, runs a super market at Cincinnati in Ohio. He left his hometown for the US about 12 years ago.

The victim is married to Kavitha, a software engineer, and has a son named Praneeth.

Shyam Sunder Reddy said Kavitha found her husband lying aside in the store, bleeding from his nose, at 11 pm (local time) last night (10.30 am IST, Sunday) and immediately informed the police.

Police reached the spot and declared Mr Reddy dead. It has registered a case of suspicious death and sent the body for autopsy.

Mr Reddy usually reaches home after closing the super market but he did not return last night.

Kavitha then reportedly called him up on his mobile, but there was no response. Immediately, she along with her neighbours reached the super market, say reports.

Police have questioned Kavitha and also quizzed Mr Reddy's partners, according to Shyam Sundar Reddy.

Mr Reddy's sister Geetha, a lawyer, has asked for help from the government to arrange a visa for the US.
