Jaddah: The Indian community in Saudi Arabia held a reception in Jeddah to honour a teacher who has received India's best teacher award.
The Indian government had conferred the National Award for Best Teacher on Syed Hameed, principal of the International Indian School in Jubail, around 1,500 km from Jeddah.
Hameed was given the award by the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi last month, Arab News.com reported.
The award was given in recognition of Hameed's contribution in the field of education over the last 37 years.
