Deoria, Uttar Pradesh: It has been more than a month since an Indian worker in Angola died at a factory where he was working, but his family back home in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, is still waiting for his body to arrive for cremation.

Suryadev Yadav died on December 1, allegedly due to an accident at Best Angola Metal Company, where he was employed. The company is now demanding Rs 16 lakh from his family as expenses to send the body back to India.

"We're poor, where will we get so much money from? I want to get my husband's body back for cremation," said Suryadev Yadav's wife Savitri Devi.

The district administration has assured the family they will forward the details of Suryadev Yadav to the Foreign Affairs Ministry in Delhi for help.

The family has also approached their MP and Union Minister Kalraj Mishra, who too has assured them help.

"I received a letter from the family though was not told it is in Angola. I will hand over the letter to our External Affairs Minister, Sushmaji so some solution should be possible," he said.
