Jakarta:
An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck off the Sukabumi district in West Java in the western part of Indonesia, 24 km (15 miles) below the surface of the sea, the state meteorology agency said on Monday.
Tremors were felt in capital Jakarta, shaking buildings briefly, witnesses said.
No tsunami warning was issued.
