Geneva: UN North Korea human rights expert Darzuki Marusman has asked the United Nations officially to notify North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that he may be investigated for crimes against humanity.

In a report seen by Reuters on Monday, Darusman recommended that the UN Human Rights Council arrange an official communication "to advise him and other senior leaders that they may be investigated and, if found to be responsible, held accountable for crimes against humanity committed under their leadership".
