Tehran:

Tens of thousands of supporters gathered in Tehran's Valiasr Square to celebrate Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's victory rally. His re-election been marked by accusations of a rigged vote.

In one of the worst unrests in a decade, violent protests took place on Saturday, leading to arrest of at least a 100 people in the capital.

Ahmadinejad's main challenger Hossein Mousavi has called for the results to be canceled.

Available protest pictures are shot from a cell phone and smuggled out, as Ahmadijenad's men have jammed mobile phones, text services and blocked Mousavi's website and Facebook.

But addressing his supporters, the President denied any vote-fixing, saying the result was very accurate.

And, in a message to the West, he even said he was ready for talks with the US.

"Right now we are studying the stances of other countries towards our election, and we are studying their behaviour towards our people. But I announced a month ago that I'm ready for a debate (with the US). Regarding the nuclear issue, we think this issue belongs to the past," he says.

But with Ahmadinejad's win, the Iran-US relations may worsen over the country's nuclear program. The Iranian president may see success at the ballot as a vindication of his stance.
