Tehran:
Iran tested two short-range missiles during a military exercise on Saturday, according to reports on Iranian television. The exercise will reportedly continue over several days.
The tests are likely to increase tension between Iran and the West, which is already concerned about Tehran's nuclear ambitions.
Earlier in September, Iran disclosed that it was building a second uranium enrichment plant. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insisted that the plant, near the holy city of Qom, was being built in line with United Nations' regulations and was open for inspection by UN experts.
Leaders of the US, Britain and France have accused Iran of breaching UN rules in building the plant, and have proposed tougher sanctions against Iran if it does not fully co-operate with global powers.
