Iran's soccer: Music, tough moves together
Tehran: Mehrdad Moghniyan from Tehran has been playing soccer since he was seven.

But now, he is putting his skills to use in 'Freestyle Soccer' an urban and gritty version of football that is fast gaining popularity in Iran.

Players use fancy footwork and deft tricks of professional soccer and turn them into a performance with music.

A group of young men in Tehran have formed their own freestyle soccer team and dream of competing in the world championship.

In spite of having no coach and a lack of experience, some feats performed by the team are of international standard.

The first freestyle soccer championship was held in October 2008 in Tehran.

It drew a large crowd and was considered to be a great success.
