Is this the world's largest clock?
Mecca: Pilgrims visiting the holy city of Mecca for this year's Hajj can now see what is thought to be the world's largest clock.

The four-faced clock tower tops a skyscraper overlooking the Grand Mosque in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

At nearly 2,000 feet (610 metres) it is second highest tower in the world after Dubai's Burj al-Khalifa.

Two faces of the clock are already completed, with the words "God is Great" in Arabic inscribed in black on one of them above the 130-foot (40-metre) diameter clock dial.

The German and Swiss manufactured clock has no chimes, but thousands of LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) flash five times a day to announce the time for prayer.

The Hajj pilgrimage draws millions (m) of worshippers to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, and is considered one of the five "pillars" of Islam.

Muslims are required to make the pilgrimage once in a lifetime if they are physically and financially able to travel to Mecca.

This year's Hajj begins on 15 November and lasts for several days.
