Japan has offered condolences to the families of the people who died in a landslide in Pune in Maharashtra this week.
"I was deeply saddened to learn that a massive landslide caused loss of many lives and extensive damage in the State of Maharashtra," Fumio Kishida, minister for foreign affairs of Japan, said in a statement.
"On behalf of the Government of Japan, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their bereaved families. I sincerely wish the earliest recovery of the region for those who are affected" the statement said.
