Miami, United States: A friend of the suspected gunman behind last year's Charleston church massacre in South Carolina goes on trial in June for failing to alert authorities to the horrific attack, court records showed on Friday.
A 22-year-old white supremacist named Dylan Roof is charged with murder over the rampage that claimed the lives of nine members of the historic African American church.
His friend Joseph Meek, 21, allegedly had prior knowledge of his plans but failed to notify officials.
Meek's trial has been set for June 27 and is expected to last about two weeks, according to court records. Meek has pleaded not guilty and is currently out on bond.
No trial date has yet been set for Roof, who faces nine counts of murder in connection with the June 17, 2015 massacre, in which all of the victims were black.
