A large explosion that ripped through central Kabul on Tuesday was a Taliban suicide attack on a foreign military convoy, police said, as the insurgent group claimed responsibility for the blast.
"It was a suicide car bomber targeting a foreign forces convoy along the airport road," Farid Afzali, chief of the city's police investigation department, told AFP.
The Taliban claimed responsibility via a recognised Twitter account.
