Sydney:
An injured kangaroo hopped its way into an airport in Australia's second-largest city Melbourne.
Melbourne Airport spokeswoman Anna Gillett says the kangaroo somehow made its way into the Qantas Airways terminal on Wednesday before hopping past perplexed passengers into a pharmacy. Gillett says the marsupial had been hit by a vehicle at a nearby intersection and was bleeding.
Shop workers, Qantas staff and federal police contained the creature in the pharmacy for a few hours before wildlife officers arrived. Wildlife Victoria says two rescue volunteers tranquilized the kangaroo and took it to a vet for treatment.
This isn't the first time a marsupial has paid a visit to Melbourne Airport. Last year, a kangaroo was found bouncing around one of the airport's parking garages.
