Jwala/Ashwini did appear to have changed their game coming into their clash today. There were mistakes made but they survive and that is the big news for India from here.

After some fight in the second set from Lianne, Saina Nehwal eases to a comprehensive win (21-4, 21-14).

Tennis at the same time: Update from Wimbledon is that Leander/Vishnu are locked 1-1 in the third set against Hasse/Rojjer from Netherlands after the first two sets were shared.
The second set much closer than the first. Saina Nehwal leads Lianne 13-8.

Spare a though for custodian Bharat Chetri. While the Indianforwards create wide ways into the Dutch half only for the finishing left with room for improvement, the defense seems buckling under Dutch pressure.

It is 3-3 in the third set of the match between Bopanna/Bhupathi and Mirnyi/Bury. This after the first two sets were shared.

Tennis: Bhupathi/Bopanna and Belarus' Mirnyi and Bury in a 6-6 deadlock in the opening set.
Hockey: Pakistan look determined but Spain are in no mood to relent. Scores level at 1-1 in the 62nd minute.

The event to watch out for tonight in India is the men`s group B India vs The Netherlands clash in hockey.
While the Dutch have always been the more powerful side in recent years, if India manage to open with a win against them, it will be a fantastic start to their campaign which may just take the entire team right up to the podium. Being too hopeful? No, that is how good the men in orange really are on the hockey field.
Well here is the man of the moment for India though...Gagan Narang!
Vishnu never really looked at ease. He lost the first set, managed to fight a bit in the second but it was just not enough to make Kavcic sweat.
Well, it was just a bit of good fortune that he got to play here any way. He had initially not qualified for the singles event.
