Making of Obama: The inside story

New York:

It was only to be expected - just months after his election as the President of America, the first journalistic account of Obama's candidacy and historic presidency has been published. The book titled Renegade: The Making of a President, is flying off shelves across America.

At book stores across America, those wanting to know the inside story of Barack Obama's run for the presidency are having to return empty-handed.

"We are getting a lot of people asking for the book," said Henry Zook, Owner, Book Court.

When asked what he was telling those people, he answered, ''That we sold out immediately, our publisher is out of stock and they are reprinting it."

Renegade: The Making of a President, written by Richard Wolffe, a British journalist who covered the 2008 presidential campaign for Newsweek, is full of tidbits.

From his frustration over former President Bill Clinton's statements to the press, to revelations that his marriage was strained by an unsuccessful run for Congress in 2000, the book contains many facts about Obama's life.

And yes, don't expect any objections from the White House. The idea for the book came from Obama himself.

"This is a White House that is not afraid of publicity but they control it. This book is written by a guy who appears to be - by his appearances on talk shows, that this is an author that really likes Obama. The Obama White House will do everything it can to get more books out like this," said Jay DeDapper, Political Analyst & Blogger.

Renegade has received mixed reviews in US political and media circles, with some critics dismissing it as a paean penned by another journalist infatuated with the President. But they don't seem to be affecting readers; clearly Americans still can't get enough of the first family.
