Kuala Lumpur:
Malaysian police are investigating the death of an USpastor found at his home with his hands and legs bound and a cellphone chargercable around his neck.
Amiruddin Jamaluddin, a Kuala Lumpur district police chief,says officials believe Reverend David Ginter was murdered but have not identifiedany suspects or motive.
Ginter's wife, who was visiting her home country ofAustralia, asked a neighbor to check on him Saturday when she couldn't contacthim. He was found dead and his car was missing.
The website of Ginter's Bridge International Church says heis from a farm outside Portland, Oregon. He came to Malaysia in 2010.
US Embassy official Harvey Sernovitz said Sunday theembassy was providing consular assistance to the family.
