Moscow:
Drug tests are now mandatory for all students at Russian schools.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had suggested the tests last week, at an emergency meeting of Russia's Security Council.
Medvedev told Council members that high drug use among Russia's youth is a threat to national security. He called for tougher punishments for drug dealers, as well as drug testing in schools and universities.
