Mexico City : Mexico's Interior Secretary says Mexican intelligence agents have broken up a plot to smuggle the son of late Libyan dictator Moammar Gaddafi and his family into Mexico under false names.
Interior Secretary Alejandro Poire says the plan involved a criminal ring "of international dimensions," but it was quashed in September before it could be carried out.
The son is named al-Saadi Gaddafi, and he is living under house arrest in the Western African country of Niger.
