Moderate 5.8 Earthquake Hits Alaska
Los Angeles: A 5.8-magnitude earthquake rattled the US state of Alaska on Wednesday, seismologists said, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake was 115 kilometers (70 miles) deep and had its epicenter 121 kilometers west of Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska, the US Geological Survey said.

Residents in Anchorage, which has a population of 300,000, said they felt the quake, which hit at 2:32 pm (2232 GMT).
