More heavy rain hits North Korea, flooding buildings
Anju, North Korea: More heavy rain has pounded North Korea, flooding buildings and farmland and forcing people and their livestock to take shelter on rooftops.

The latest inundation follows storms earlier this month that officials say killed 88 people and left more than 60,000 homeless. Before that North Korea reported a severe drought.

More rain hit the capital Pyongyang and other regions from Sunday to Monday, with western coastal areas reporting heavy damage.

In Anju city in South Phyongan province, officials say 1,000 houses and buildings were destroyed and 2,300 hectares (5,700 acres) of farmland were completely submerged.

City official Kim Kwang Dok told The Associated Press that the damage is the worst in the city's history.
