Myanmar's powerful army chief vowed to co-operate with the country's new government as Aung San Suu Kyi's party tip-toed towards a majority after historic elections.
"Tatmadaw (the army) will do what is best in co-operation with the new government during the post-election period," Min Aung Hlaing said in a statement posted on his Facebook page after meeting military top brass.
