Over 100 police personnel have been deployed at the mall which is under lockdown for over 6 hours.
Guilderland, New York:
Gunfire has erupted at a crowded mall in upstate New York, sending hundreds of shoppers fleeing in a panic.
The police chief in Guilderland has confirmed that shots were fired but says no one was injured in the incident at Crosslands Mall in suburban Albany.
Witnesses told police they heard one, possibly two, shots fired around 2.30 pm Saturday near the Apple store.
Chief Carol Lawlar says the mall still was on lockdown about six hours later, protected by more than 100 officers. The chief says a shooter may still be hiding somewhere in the mall, but no suspects had been found.
Investigators checked security cameras for clues.
State Police Major Bill Keeler told the Albany Times-Union that reports coming in suggested a possible confrontation between two men who fled.
