Both Foreign Minister S M Krishna and Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmud Qureshi are in Trinidad for the commonwealth foreign ministers meet on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
There has been much speculation on a possible meeting between the two, but nothing has been scheduled so far.
Sources have said recently that given the public mood right now a meeting isn't likely, but things can always change even at the last minute.
"The only purpose a meeting will serve is to show India is ready to engage with Pakistan, nothing else. That message has already been given several times; there has been no request from the Pakistani side for a meeting," Krishna said.
