Washington: Already an extremely well off business man, Sant Chatwal is now also the proud owner of something priceless - an invite to the State dinner at the Obama White House in honour of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh!

Mr Chatwal has attended dinners with Bill Clinton and Bush in the past, but how will Obama be different?

"Bill loved to throw parties; Bush went to bed at 9, let's see what tonight brings," said Sant Chatwal, Indian origin businessman.

A state dinner is Washington's equivalent of the Oscars - a heady mix of politicians and celebrities to moguls are expected.

In fact the guest list has mushroomed so much that the Obama's have been forced to move the party out doors.

The 77-year-old Singh is a vegetarian, so Michelle Obama's famous White House garden should come in handy.

The PM is expected to wear the traditional black Nehru jacket with his characteristic blue turban.

After intense high-level talks, the leaders of the world's largest democracies will have an opportunity to unwind with some black tie diplomacy.

The highlight of the evening will be a toast to India by President Obama, who has often referred to Mahatma Gandhi as his hero. For those evaluating the evening, this definitely calls for full points.
