Terre Haute, Indiana:
The Campus police at Indiana State University in Terre Haute said a student who was shot on campus was the sole intended target of the attack.
Police Chief Joe Newport says the shooting early on Saturday evening took place in a stairwell of a residence hall on campus. Newport says that the shooter fled the scene and that police don't believe there's a further threat to the campus community.
Newport says the victim is a second-year student who was taken to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
He says the suspect and victim knew each other and had been together for more than an hour earlier Saturday.
The university in western Indiana has more than 13,000 students.
