Osama had just moved to bedroom when raid took place: Wife
Islamabad: Osama bin Laden had just moved to his bedroom when US commandos stormed his hideout in Abbottabad, the Al Qaeda leader's wife has told investigators.

Amal al-Sadah has told officials that she had just moved with her husband to their bedroom and switched off the lights when they heard gunshots.

Before Osama could reach out for his Kalashnikov, the commandos burst in and shot him, she said, reported Dawn.

She sustained a bullet injury when trying to resist the US commandos, Amal added.

Heavily-armed US commandos had swooped into Abbottabad on May 2 in helicopters and then stormed Osama's hideout. They killed the Al Qaeda leader whose body was later buried at sea.

Amal said Osama along with his children and grandchildren had moved from Haripur district to Abbottabad towards the end of 2005. (Read: Osama had another house near Abbottabad)

She was just 17 when she and Osama wed in Afghanistan. She was born in Yemen and the marriage was reportedly arranged to strengthen the terrorist's links with the Gulf state.
