That's all folks! Join us next year...
Tonight's biggest winners: Ang Lee and Life Of Pi, Argo, Christoph Waltz who won his second Oscar and has a 100% winning rate, Daniel Day-Lewis who made history with the most Best Actor wins (three), and Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway who won their first Oscars.
The final count:

Life Of Pi - 4 wins out of 11 nominations
Argo - 3 out 7 nominations
Les Miserables
- 3 out of 8 nominations
Django Unchained - 2 out of 5 nominations
Lincoln - 2 out of 12 nominations
Silver Linings Playbook - 1 out of 8 nominations
Amour
- 1 out of 5 nominations
Zero Dark Thirty - 1 out of 5 nominations
Beasts Of The Southern Wild - 0 out of 4 nominations
Despite a Best Director snub, it's Ben Affleck's night, and definitely NOT Steven Spielberg's!

And what could be cooler than having your win announced by Michelle Obama and being handed your Oscar by Jack Nicholson!

And the Oscar goes to...
And here comes the big one - Best Picture
Another fun fact: Lincoln was meant to star Liam Neeson, who was a presenter today. He handed the role to Daniel Day-Lewis
Fun fact: Daniel Day-Lewis beat his Lincoln co-star Tommy Lee Jones (and Best Supporting Actor nominee this year) for Best Actor in 2008. Daniel won for There Will Be Blood, Tommy was nominated for In The Valley Of Elah
And an expected win: Daniel Day-Lewis wins Best Actor for Lincoln

This makes Daniel Day-Lewis the actor with the most number of Best Actor Oscars - three. He previously won for My Left Foot and There Will Be Blood
This is Jennifer Lawrence's second nomination and first win. She was previously nominated for Winter's Bone a couple of years ago, and was then the second youngest Best Actress nominee
And the Best Actress Oscar goes to Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook
Best Actress coming up. If Emmanuelle Riva wins Best Actress nominee for Amour, she will become the oldest Best Actress winner at 85 and also the fifth French actress to win an Oscar after Claudette Colbert (Best Actress for It Happened One Night), Simone Signoret (Best Actress for Room At The Top), Marion Cotillard (Best Actress for La Vie En Rose), and Juliette Binoche (Best Supporting Actress for The English Patient).
Ok then!

Best Director: Ang Lee for Life Of Pi
Best Director coming up. This is the second time that directors Steven Spielberg and Ang Lee are facing off at the Oscars. In 2006, Steven Spielberg, nominated for Munich, lost to Ang Lee who won for Brokeback Mountain.
Tarantino makes up for his Best Director snub with an Oscar for writing
With just 1 win, Lincoln has been left far behind now by Les Miserables and Life Of Pi with 3 Oscars each, and Django Unchained and Argo with 2 Oscars each.
Best Original Screenplay: Quentin Tarantino for Django Unchained
Best Adapted Screenplay: Chris Terrio for Argo
Just to recap: Anne Hathaway and Christoph Waltz won the Best Supporting Actor Oscars for Les Miserables and Django Unchained

Coming up: Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Picture
The race is on. Life Of Pi and Les Miserables are neck and neck:

Life Of Pi - 3 wins out of 11 nominations
Les Miserables - 3 out of 8 nominations
Lincoln - 1 out of 12 nominations
Argo - 1 out 7 nominations
Django Unchained
- 1 out of 5 nominations

Best Original Song: Skyfall by Adele
Norah Jones sings Everybody Needs A Best Friend from Ted
Life Of Pi and Les Miserables are now neck and neck with three Oscars each
Best Original Score: Life Of Pi
If you are wondering why the cast of Chicago is on stage, they are celebrating winning the Best Picture Oscar exactly 10 years ago. Here are Richard Gere, Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah, presenting Best Original Score.
Some choice Seth McFarlane jokes from the show:
"This is going to be a big night for some of you people, because, as we all know, winning an Oscar guarantees a long, successful career in the industry. Look at last year: Jean Dujardin won best actor for The Artist and now he's everywhere! I'm kidding, of course. His is actually a tragic, age-old Hollywood story: he couldn't make it in the talkies."

"Django Unchained. This is the story of a man fighting to get back his woman, who's been subjected to unthinkable violence-or as Chris Brown and Rihanna call it, 'a date movie.' ... A lot of controversies over the use of the n-word in the film. I'm told apparently the screenplay is loosely based on Mel Gibson's voicemails."

"Ben Affleck-this man has gone from starring in Gigli to becoming one of the respected filmmakers of this generation. I feel like we're six months away from having to call him Benjamin Affleck. The first time I saw him with all that dark facial hair, I thought, My God, the Kardashians have finally made the jump to film."

Barbra Streisand sings...
George Clooney takes us through the farewell to those Hollywood lost last year. They include actors Ernest Borgnine, Michael Clarke Duncan, and director Tony Scott.
Stunning, on stage and off it:
Somebody's rooting for Argo:
Please welcome Salma Hayek!
Finally! Best Production Design: Lincoln
Daniel Radcliffe and Kristen Stewart are presenting now. Kristen walked the red carpet on crutches earlier today
Did you know: If Emmanuelle Riva wins Best Actress nominee for Amour, she will become the oldest Best Actress winner at 85 and also the fifth French actress to win an Oscar after Claudette Colbert (Best Actress for It Happened One Night), Simone Signoret (Best Actress for Room At The Top), Marion Cotillard (Best Actress for La Vie En Rose), and Juliette Binoche (Best Supporting Actress for The English Patient).
Adele's smoky voice enthralls everyone with the theme song from Skyfall
Les Miserables now leading with 3 wins, Life Of Pi has 2, Argo, Django Unchained, Zero Dark Thirty and Amour have 1 each. No wins yet for Lincoln, most nominated this year
Best Film Editing: Argo
This is Anne's second Oscar nomination and first win. She was previously nominated for Best Actress for Rachel Getting Married. Anne has already won most of this year's awards for her role as the starving Fantine forced into prostitution
And the Best Supporting Actress Oscar goes to: Anne Hathaway for Les Miserables. Yay! We were rooting for her
Lincoln, most nominated this year with 12 nods, hasn't won a single Oscar so far. The score:
Life Of Pi - 2 wins out of 11 nominations
Les Miserables - 2 out of 8 nominations
Django Unchained - 1 out of 5 nominations
Amour - 1 out of 5 nominations
Zero Dark Thirty - 1 out of 5 nominations
Lincoln - 0 out of 12 nominations
Silver Linings Playbook - 0 out of 8 nominations
Argo - 0 out 7 nominations
Beasts Of The Southern Wild - 0 out of 4 nominations
It's a tie! Best Sound Editing: Zero Dark Thirty and Skyfall
Best Sound Mixing:Les Miserables
Mark Wahlberg and Ted join the voice of Ted on stage
While we're waiting for the big awards, here's a fun fact: Three directing nominees this year are also nominated for screenplay awards: David O Russell (Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay for Silver Linings Playbook), Micheal Haneke (Best Director, Best Original Screenplay for Amour), and Benh Zeitlin (Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay for Beasts Of The Southern Wild).
The Oscars this year are one long musical extravaganza! Not that we're complaining...
Russell Crowe? Not so much.
Our personal favourite singer from the Les Miserables cast is Samantha Barks who plays Eponine
Anything but miserable when Hugh Jackman sings!
Saturday Night Fever at the Oscars! John Travolta introduces a tribute to Hollywood musicals and performances by the casts of Les Miserables and Dreamgirls. But before Jackman and Hathaway, here's Catherine Zeta-Jones singing All That Jazz from Chicago
The score so far:
Life Of Pi - 2 wins out of 11 nominations
Django Unchained - 1 out of 5 nominations
Les Miserables - 1 out of 8 nominations
Amour - 1 out of 5 nominations
Lincoln - 0 out of 12 nominations
Silver Linings Playbook - 0 out of 8 nominations
Argo - 0 out 7 nominations
Zero Dark Thirty - 0 out of 5 nominations
Beasts Of The Southern Wild - 0 out of 4 nominations
Best Foreign Language Film: Amour

Amour is also nominated for Best Picture
Best Documentary Feature: Searching For Sugar Man
Ben Affleck, who we think was most unfairly overlooked for a Best Director nomination, is presenting
And here's Liam Neeson himself. He's introducing some of the Best Picture nominees. Don't worry about turning down Bond, Liam. You did get to play R'as al Ghul in Batman Begins
Some more trivia: Denzel Washington, Best Actor nominee for Flight, already has a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Glory and a Best Actor win for Training Day. If he wins this year, he will become one of three actors with the most overall wins (three Oscars). The other two are Walter Brennan (three Best Supporting Actor wins) and Jack Nicholson (two Best Actor, one Best Supporting Actor wins).
Best Documentary Short: Inocente
Best Live Action Short Film: Curfew
We didn't know!

Dame Shirley Bassey mesmerises with a soaring rendition of her song from Goldfinger
Halle, who played Bond girl Jinx in Die Another Day, introduces a capsule on James Bond. 007 turned 50 last year.
Seth introduces Halle Berry as one of the most beautiful women in the world. And so she is - but not in that dress. Just in case, you missed her shiny disco ball Versace, here it is again:

The score so far:
Life Of Pi - 2 wins out of 11 nominations
Django Unchained - 1 out of 5 nominations
Les Miserables - 1 out of 8 nominations
Lincoln - 0 out of 12 nominations
Silver Linings Playbook - 0 out of 8 nominations
Argo - 0 out 7 nominations
Amour - 0 out of 5 nominations
Zero Dark Thirty - 0 out of 5 nominations
Beasts Of The Southern Wild - 0 out of 4 nominations
Best Make Up and Hairstyling: Les Miserables
Best Costume Design - Anna Karenina
So that's two wins for Life Of Pi already - yay!
Best Visual Effects: Life Of Pi
Best Cinematography: Life Of Pi
The Avengers are on stage presenting. It's Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, The Hulk and Nick Fury. Where's Thor???!
This year, the Best Actress nominees include the oldest - Emmanuelle Riva, 85, star of Amour - and the youngest - Quvenzhane Wallis, 9, star of Beasts Of The Southern Wild.
Here's Reese from the red carpet. She's wearing Louis Vuitton:

Reese Witherspoon introduces the Best Picture nominees
Best Animated Feature Film: Brave
Best Animated Short Film: Paperman
Funny people on stage: Paul Rudd and Melissa McCarthy
This is Christoph's second Best Supporting Actor win. He won a couple of years ago for Inglorious Basterds. So he's won both times he's been nominated, which gives him a 100% strike rate. And both times for Tarantino movies
And the Best Supporting Actor Oscar goes to Christoph Waltz for Django Unchained
Just over 15 minutes into the show now. It's pretty much been one long song and dance, punctuated by acidic criticism of Seth's hosting by William Shatner in character as Captain Kirk.
Steven Spielberg vs Ang Lee might turn out to be the most interesting face-off this year. This is the second time that the directors are going to head-to-head. In 2006, Steven Spielberg, nominated for Munich, lost to Ang Lee who won for Brokeback Mountain.
Can everybody in Hollywood sing? Seems like it. Daniel Radcliffe and Joe Gordon-Levitt are doing a song and dance number with Seth. Harry Potter left the wand at home.
Or is it? Seth sings The Way You Look Tonight. Channing Tatum twirls Charlize Theron around the stage
So not even 10 minutes into the show and one thing's clear - Seth McFarlane ain't for family viewing! Shades of Ted at the Oscars
And a biting rejoinder from Captain Kirk (yes, really Captain Kirk): Seth McFarlane, worst oscar host. Why can't Tina and Amy host everything?
More Golden Globes lampooning by Seth: Jennifer Lawrence told me backstage, whether she wins or loses, it's just an honour Meryl Streep wasn't nominated!
Go India! Here's Suraj Sharma, star of Life Of Pi, on the red carpet:

Did you know: Lincoln co-stars Tommy Lee Jones, Best Supporting Actor nominee this year, and Daniel Day-Lewis previously competed for the Best Actor Oscar in 2008. Tommy Lee Jones was nominated for In The Valley Of Elah and lost to Daniel Day-Lewis who was nominated for There Will Be Blood.
And it begins! Host Seth McFarlane manages to do the one thing Tina Fey and Amy Poehler couldn't at Golden Globes - make Tommy Lee Jones laugh!
Normally we LOVE Salma Hayek's va-va-voom style, but this Alexander McQueen dress is just that little bit too snug and ever slightly so tacky:

This might be the dress of the Oscars! Jennifer Aniston's red Valention competing for best dressed honours with Jennifer Lawrence's white Dior. See all photos from the red carpet

OMG, Halle Berry - what ARE you wearing? Versace, you say? Ask Donatella for your money back:

Les Miserables Amanda Seyfried is wearing Alexander McQueen, but we have to be honest here - it's doing nothing for her porcelain complexion.

Best Supporting Actress nominee Sally Field, who tends to err on the side of frumpy, is nothing short of stunning in Valentino.

More trivia: Five nominees this year previously won one Oscar each: Ang Lee (Best Director for Brokeback Mountain), Tommy Lee Jones (Best Supporting Actor for The Fugitive), Alan Arkin (Best Supporting Actor for Little Miss Sunshine), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Best Actor for Capote), and Christoph Waltz (Best Supporting Actor for Inglorious Basterds).
Best Supporting Actress nominee (and we think she's going to win) Anne Hathaway in pale pink satin Prada:

Best Actress nominee Jessica Chastain wears Armani Prive:

Best Actress nominee Jennifer Lawrence in a Dior dress (she and Marion Cotillard are fast becoming Dior darlings!) and doesn't she look dreamy

Five nominees this year have two previous wins to their credit: Steven Spielberg (Best Director for Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan), Robert De Niro (Best Supporting Actor for The Godfather Part 2, Best Actor for Raging Bull), Sally Field (Best Actress for Norma Rae, Places In The Heart), Denzel Washington (Best Supporting Actor for Glory, Best Actor for Training Day) and Daniel Day-Lewis (Best Actor for My Left Foot and There Will Be Blood).
So, most people are betting on Jessica Chastain or Jennifer Lawrence for Best Actress, but our pick is Emmanuelle Riva for Amour.
Our favorite for Best Actor is Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln. Here's some trivia: Daniel Day-Lewis is one of 12 actors who have won two Best Actor Oscars. Others include Jack Nicholson, Marlon Brando, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks and Sean Penn. If Daniel Day-Lewis wins this year, he will become the actor with the most Best Actor Oscars (three). He earlier won Best Actor for My Left Foot and There Will Be Blood.
Welcome to our Oscar coverage, folks. Hope everyone's as excited as we are!
