Pakistan Air Force Officer's Bullet-Riddled Body Found in Balochistan

Islamabad: A Pakistan Air Force officer (PAF), who was kidnapped by militants last week, has been killed and his bullet-riddled body found in the restive southwestern Balochistan province, a senior official said today.

The PAF officer was kidnapped with four other persons on January 4 from Zhob distrct and his bullet-riddled body was found yesterday from a village in Qila Saifullah district.

The body with bullet wounds in the head was thrown on the road, some media reports said, adding that a letter in which the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the killing was found in the officer's pocket.

Balochistan Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani identified the officer as Liaquat Ali Khan.

Mr Khan was from Chakwal district of Punjab and was travelling in a car he hired from Islamabad, Durrani said.

He said the kidnapped driver of the car and another person were released but police was searching the fourth person who was kidnapped.
