Pakistan Police Foils 'Plot To Kill 100' In Karachi During Ramzan

Islamabad: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police in Pakistan's Karachi city has arrested six suspects who were "planning to kill 100 citizens" in the port-city during the holy month of Ramzan, a media report said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Naved Khawaja on Thursday said in Karachi that the suspects were accused of target-killing and illegal possession of weapons.

He claimed that the suspects, identified as Mohammad Ali, Sheraz, Hamid, Israr, and Pervaiz, were planning to kill 100 citizens in the port city, Geo News reported.

Karachi, a city of 20 million and Pakistan's economic hub, is frequently hit by religious, political and ethnic violence.
