London: Imran Farooq, founding leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has been murdered in a knife attack in London.
Farooq was leading one of the main opposition parties in Pakistan. His family sources said he was attacked by some unidentified men with knives near his London residence. He died of multiple wounds.
Farooq was living in London since 1999, when he fled Pakistan. He was wanted on a number of charges including murder but insisted the claims were politically motivated.
