New Delhi: Pakistan now has an alternative to the social networking website Facebook.
The popular social networking website was banned recently in Pakistan for hosting a contest calling for cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.
MillatFacebook promises to help connect users to 1.57 billion Muslims as well as what it describes as sweet people from other religions. Thousands of people in Pakistan have demonstrated against the US-based social networking site.
The developer of the site says the aim was to register disapproval of the and to offer an alternative to a site that has also been criticised for its lax and confusing privacy controls.
