Washington: The US has said it is in Pakistan's interest to crackdown on those terror groups that are finding safe havens within its borders.
"It's in their interests, obviously, to crackdown on any terrorist group that may be finding safe haven within its borders," State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner told reporters at his daily news conference.
"With respect to our counter-terrorism cooperation with Pakistan, that's ongoing. We work with them quite closely. They're aware of some of our concerns, which include a safe haven for some terrorist groups that are active in the region," he said.
"But again (the State Department has) made clear many times from this podium, Pakistan's also paid the price of terrorism," Toner said in response to a question.
The White House on November 19 had said that Pakistan "can and must" take more effective action against terror groups operating from its soil as no state should allow its territory to be used to launch attacks into another.
