Islamabad: Angered by a question from a Pakistani journalist, embattled former military ruler Pervez Musharraf's lawyer today called him "an Indian".
"Shame on you, you sound like an Indian journalist," said senior lawyer Ahmed Raza Kasuri, a key member of Musharraf's legal team.
"Your question makes you look like you are being paid by someone. You seem to be a paid person. You are undermining Pakistan's commando?" a peeved Kasuri said outside the special court that is conducting the former President's treason trial.
"You sound like an Indian journalist. Shame on you. Shame on you... You are those people who have been sold. You are those who do envelope journalism."
Kasuri was joined by Musharraf's supporters, who shouted "Shame on you".
The question asked by the Pakistani journalist was not audible but made Kasuri very angry.
Musharraf, 70, has skipped all hearings of the special court that was formed to try him on charges of high treason for imposing emergency in 2007.
He was admitted to a military hospital in Rawalpindi after he developed heart problems while being driven to the court on January 2.
