Peshawar School Attack: China Offers Condolences, Aid
Taliban terrorists had stormed into a school in Peshawar and killed over 160, most of whom were children.
Islamabad: China has offered condolences on the death of innocent people, most of them students, in Tuesday's terror attack by Taliban terrorists on an army-run school in Pakistan's Peshawar city.

China also offered assistance to the victims of the Taliban attack, which left nearly 150 people dead, Xinhua reported on Thursday.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong on Wednesday extended letters of condolences to Tariq Fatemi, Pakistan's Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs.

The Chinese envoy also handed over a donation cheque, to Mr Fatemi, for the families of the deceased and wounded.

"Chinese people feel shocked and really saddened to hear such bad news and strongly condemn such a terrorist attack, and our sympathies go to the victims, their families and loved ones and also to the injured people," Ambassador Sun said.

"China stands beside Pakistan at this difficult time and we also continue to support the Pakistani government and people for their efforts against terrorism and for peace and stability of the country," he added.

Appreciating the support from the Chinese people and the leadership, Mr Fatemi said: "These messages of condolence mean a lot to us. Chinese support will fortify the resolve of the people of Pakistan to root out terrorism from the soil of this country."
