Columbus:
A police spokesman says a man tried to buy an airline ticket using a fake ID and then lunged at an Ohio airport police officer with a knife before he was fatally shot by at least two officers.
Sergeant Rich Weiner says the man tried to stab the officer outside the ticketing terminal on Wednesday after being turned away when he tried to buy a ticket.
The confrontation outside came after the officer called a tow truck for the man's vehicle, which he left illegally parked in the departures area.
Two officers, including one in civilian clothes, fired at the man. His name hasn't been released but Weiner says he lived locally.
Weiner didn't know why the man was trying to buy a ticket but said there were no indications that terrorism was involved.
