NEW YORK:
A Florida man has been taken into custody after authorities say he made threats against police officers at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
Police say an 18-year-old man was found carrying a .38 caliber gun in a bag Wednesday night.
Investigators say a man the suspect was speaking to approached officers and said the suspect asked him if he wanted to "off some cops" and claimed he had a gun in the bag. Officers were never directly confronted by the suspect.
Police say they obtained a warrant and searched the man's bag, finding the gun. He's charged with a weapons offense, terroristic threat and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Authorities didn't immediately identify the man.
