Warsaw: Poland's prime minister says early elections within weeks may be necessary if an expanding political crisis sparked by eavesdropping on political leaders is not contained.
However, Donald Tusk on Thursday called for the Polish magazine NNow Wprost to release all of the secret recordings of leaders' private conversations which it claims to have. He says that until it is all published his team is vulnerable to blackmail.
Material released in recent days has compromised the reputation of one of Tusk's ministers and the central bank head.
Police and state prosecutors raided the headquarters of the magazine Wednesday evening. The chief editor put up strong resistance and the authorities left without taking away any computers.
