Political museums coming up in Nepal
Kathmandu:

Nepal is planning to build four new museums to showcase various phases of political changes that has taken place in the country.

The announcement for the new museum was made by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal while inspecting an ethnic museum at Nepal Tourism Board complex in Bhrikutimandap.

These are Narayanhiti museum and ethnic museum in Kathmandu city, Martyr memorial museum in Gokarna forest in eastern Kathmandu and Tharu museum in Nawalparasi district in western Nepal.

The Narayanhiti museum will showcase the history of Shah dynasty, the ethnic museum to be built in Champadevi village will reflect the culture of 103 different indigenous communities and the Martyr museum will display materials and photographs of martyrs depicting their contributions.

The Nepal Prime Minister said the government has issued directives to Finance Ministry in this regard.

He recently laid the foundation stone for a republic monument at Ratnapark on May 29 to commemorate the declaration of Republic on May 28, 2008.
