The British pound surged in Asia on Friday, hitting a more than two-year high against the euro as investors bet on a victory for the 'No' camp in Scotland's independence referendum.
In Tokyo morning trade, the euro weakened to 0.7809 against the pound, its lowest level since July 2012, and down from 0.7882 in New York, while the British unit rose to as high as $1.6522 from $1.6389 in US trading.
