Mecca:
Muslims from around the world were making journeys to Mecca, Saudi Arabia on Friday, for the annual pilgrimage of Hajj.
The pilgrimage, draws millions of worshippers to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, and is considered one of the five "pillars" of Islam.
Pilgrims at al-Haram mosque took part in the first Friday prayers before Hajj officially begins on Monday.
Muslims are required to make the pilgrimage once in a lifetime if they are physically and financially able to travel to Mecca.
This is a tremendous experience for me as an individual, and this is one of the pillars for us and it's a lifetime we have to visit this area once in a lifetime at least, if not more," said Golam Mansour, a pilgrim
