Defeating IS Requires a New Leader in Syria: US President Barack Obama

United Nations: United States President Barack Obama said today that defeating the Islamic State group in Syria will only be possible if Syrian President Bashar al-Assad leaves power.

"In Syria, defeating ISIL requires a new leader," President Barack Obama told a counter-terrorism summit of some 100 leaders, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
