London: Britain's baby Prince George will feature on a special edition set of stamps. Alongside his parents - Prince William and Kate Middleton - Britain's third in line to the throne has been making his first-ever public appearances during an official tour of New Zealand.

The set of stamps has been specially approved for use by his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and will feature the first picture of George, taken by maternal grandfather Michael Middleton.

"New Zealand Post is eager to welcome the young couple and commemorate this occasion with a special stamp issue for their April tour," reported 'New Zealand Post'.

British media reports have also been full of features around the eight-month-old future king taking everything in his crawl, attending a specially arranged playgroup.

Speaking at a state reception in Wellington, his father - the Duke of Cambridge - said his son was "at his most vocal at 3am" and apologised to his hosts for any interruption to their sleep.

He also predicted a future in rugby for Prince George: "He's a bonny lad and you'll be pleased to know that he's currently preparing for life as a prop forward!"

William and Kate are on a three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia that began on Monday.
