Beijing: A pilot was killed and another injured when a helicopter crashed in suburban Beijing today.
The Bell 407 helicopter crashed as the pilots were conducting flight training above Mujiayu township in Miyun, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The chopper belonged to a Beijing-based company and was being operated by a general aviation company in neighbouring Tianjin.
While the pilot died following a brain injury, his associate survived with minor injuries, the report said, adding that civil aviation authorities are investigating the accident.
China has opened up the country's low-altitude airspace to general aviation since 2010.
