Al Mohannadi told a forum held by the Faculty of Law at Qatar University recently that the special category visas were now being issued by the Ministry, The Peninsula said.

Last week, the UAE announced a federal law making foreigners, buying a home in the UAE valued at more than USD 272,250, eligible for a six-month renewable residency visa.
