Britain's Queen Elizabeth used a ceremonial sword to cut a cake on Saturday at an event in Cornwall on the sidelines of the Group of Seven (G7) summit.

A video was shared on an official Twitter account that showed Queen Elizabeth interacting with people at the event.

"The Duchess of Cornwall is Patron of The Big Lunch - an initiative that encourages people to come together to share food and friendship and make new connections. The Big Jubilee Lunch will form part of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations! (sic)" read one of the posts.

"To end the Big Lunch celebrations today, The Queen was invited to cut a Big Lunch cake (sic)," another tweet read.
 

At the event, the 95-year-old monarch remarked "I know there is...this is something that is more unusual" when told a knife is available, showed the videos shared on social media.

The comments evoked laughter both at the venue on Twitter.

Earlier in the day, Queen Elizabeth viewed a military ceremony at Windsor Castle to mark her official birthday, the first since the death of her husband Prince Philip in April. She was accompanied by her cousin Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, at the 'Trooping the Colour' ceremony, according to Reuters.

On Friday, she met US President Joe Biden under the canopy of the world's largest indoor rainforest as she hosted a reception for leaders of the Group of Seven richest nations.
