A secretive group of real-life 'superheroes' is fighting crime, poverty and lending a helping hand to those in need on New York's streets.
These real-life superheroes, a loose coalition of both men and women, do relatively normal jobs during the day, but when the sun goes down the costumes come out and their missions begin.
Nicole Abramovici, called 'The Prowler', is a 'superhero' who specialises in helping animals and the homeless, 'Sky News' reported.
Chris Pollak aka 'Dark Guardian', a martial arts instructor by day, is often joined by other 'superheroes' in the night to patrol high-crime areas to act as a deterrent.
Chaim Lazaros, otherwise known as 'Life', is a 'superhero' who tours New York's addiction centres and homeless shelters.
There are other 'superhero' collectives also at work in the city and some people who work solely as individuals, unaffiliated with any group.
According to the report, the New York Police Department (NYPD) does not have an official position on this kind of activity but police sources say they do not believe it is a good idea.
