Juneau, Alaska:
Republican Dan Sullivan has won Alaska's US Senate race, maintaining an Election Night lead to defeat incumbent Democrat Mark Begich.
Mr Sullivan led Mr Begich by about 8,100 votes on election night last week, and results from absentee and questioned ballots on Tuesday showed that Mr Begich could not overcome Mr Sullivan's lead.
Mr Sullivan ran a confident campaign, ignoring the debate schedule Mr Begich established and setting his own terms.
He pledged to fight federal overreach, talked about energy independence and at seemingly every opportunity, sought to tie Mr Begich to President Barack Obama and Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, who are unpopular in Alaska.
Mr Begich complained that Mr Sullivan offered little in the way of proposals for what he would do as senator.
