Buenos Aires:
Local residents from Godoy Cruz in the Mendoza province of Argentina attacked a bus as it arrived from Chile on Thursday night.
Argentine television showed people pelting the bus with stones and clashing with police after they heard the bus was carrying people who had symptoms of swine flu.
Local media reported that a person on the bus had high fever and that Argentine authorities were alerted to the case when the bus arrived at the border.
Police escorted the bus to a hospital in Godoy Cruz but local residents tried to stop the bus from entering the hospital compound.
Local health authorities confirmed on Friday that the person on the bus has tested negative for swine flu, also known as H1N1.
